Blah, blah, blah! Communicating with Teens - BCC High School Cafeteria

Texting with our teens might meet them where they’re at (and let’s be honest — it’s easy!), but what about good, old-fashioned TALKING? Join the 10th grade Peer Parents — in an event open to ALL parents — TUESDAY, OCT 22nd 8-9 am in the B-CC CAFETERIA (mark your calendars now so you don’t forget!) as we welcome Certified Parent Educator Paige Trevor to discuss “Communicating with Teens” (yes, it really is possible!). Whether related to chores, homework or behavior, there are ways to communicate our expectations to our high schoolers that show respect AND love. Open to the entire B-CC community, this talk will uncover the developmental and physiological reasons it can be difficult to communicate with our teens and offer ways to increase mutual respect while still meeting the needs of the situation. The best part? Parents will go home with a compassionate view of their teen, along with realistic expectations and new tools and phrases from which to experiment to keep communication open and positive. In short, come with problems or concerns, leave with solutions! Paige uses her engaging, informational — and even humorous — way to bring you nuggets of wisdom you can use right away to improve your relationship with your teenager. This is sure to be not only engaging but entertaining. The event is open to all parents. Please join us!
